Lemfest

Scenario

Every year, there is a village fete which raises money for a local school and church to me. This had to be cancelled in 2020 due to COVID lockdown. When planning for the 2021 fete, the committee decided a smaller event would be better, due to uncertainty over future restrictions. They decided that a small outdoor concert would allow for a good amount of people to be able to come and be spread out.

Designs

I was asked to design the posters and tickets promoting the event.

Concert

A bright, neon themed concert was created, with sound levels going around the side and a dark background to make them stand out more. Musical notes were put around the side to emphasise it being a music concert.

Band names

The main design was made smaller to fit the names of singers and bands that would be performing. A decorative font was tested to see how it compared with the original sans serif.

Logo challenge

A colourful smoke pattern was added to the top of the poster for decoration. The musical notes were put onto lines to look like a piece of music going across the poster.

Sunset

A sunset for a relaxed looking background as well as the time of day the concert is based. Trees added to the bottom of the poster to resemble the woods surrounding the area where the concert was being held.

Final

Band and singers names were moved into a more regular arrangement. A banner was also added to the top of the poster stating who was organising the event. This design was chosen as it resembled the vibe of the type of concert that they would be holding.
